Bass Pro Shops Gift Card

Today I have a special offer for all the readers here at the Bushwhacking Fool.

A while back I was asked to complete a new product development survey from ACR Electronics. ACR Electronics was the manufacturer of the MicroFix personal locator beacon, which I purchased several years before. Unfortunately the MicroFix has been discontinued and replaced with the SARLink and SARLink View personal locator beacons.

Personal locator beacons, such as the MicroFix and SARLink, can be important backcountry safety tools especially for solo bushwhackers. These beacons communicate one’s position via onboard GPS to search and rescue officials via satellite during a true emergency. By providing these GPS coordinates a search and rescue can be reduced to just a rescue operation.

In return for my participation in their survey they sent me a $5 gift card to Bass Pro Shops (yeah, I know, big spenders). Since I do not shop at Bass Pro Shops (the nearest one to me is in Auburn, NY over 30 miles away) I decided to give away the gift card to a lucky reader of the Bushwhacking Fool.
